Sesil Dikener is a NYC-based Visual Artist whose inspiration stems from the sweet chaos of our external and internal worlds. Born in Turkey into a family of classical musicians, and migrating to the United States as a child, Sesil grew up with diverse and rich experiences including spending her summers along the serene Mediterranean Turkish coast both attending and performing in recitals with her musical parents. While working with her father at his summer music camps, helping to organize and manage the program, she explored a new side of herself and her skills. Working with people, managing expectations and building a successful community-oriented program encouraged Sesil, and led her to attend Boston University's School of Management to study Finance and Accounting. She now uses her corporate career as part of her inspiration for her work. Through painting, Sesil aims to bring to the canvas the juxtaposition of the energy and vigor of the Metropolis with the serene Mediterranean experience.
